The Laboratory Safety Online Class is designed for research laboratory personnel. It examines workplace safety in laboratory environments, including health hazards, exposures, physical hazards, hazard recognition, exposure controls, and emergency procedures.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Laboratory Safety Course, students will be able to:

• Assist in complying with the training requirements of 29 CFR1910.1450
• Understand the physical and health hazards of materials commonly used in laboratories
• Understand methods and observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous material
• Understand exposure control measures
